  national federations\, dear friends\,\nIn June 2023 I was delighted to se
 e the IJF collaboration with Tajikistan benefiting the judo family\, as th
 e World Judo Tour arrived in Dushanbe for the first time. The event turned
  out to be extraordinary\, finding its way into the hearts of the Tajik pe
 ople immediately and bringing a full house of spectators and incredible me
 dia coverage.\nDue to this success and to the continued hard work by all m
 embers of the Tajikistan Judo Federation\, led by their President\, Mr Ism
 oil Mahmadzoir\, the Dushanbe Grand Prix has now been granted grand slam s
 tatus and so Tajikistan joins the 2024 calendar at yet another new level.\
 nWe are always proud to see new countries reaching for excellence\, bringi
 ng new judoka and cultures into the spotlight. Tajikistan is a friend to t
 he arts and to sport and this perfect combination is the best starting poi
 nt from which to continue the excellent development work being done in the
  regions and nationally.\nThe country’s capital is now set to welcome vi
 sitors from scores of countries as part of their judoka’s essential pre-
 Olympic preparation. Stunning scenery\, ideal competition conditions and w
 arm hospitality await everyone in Dushanbe.\nWe wish all participating ath
 letes\, visiting delegations and the wider judo family a healthy and succe
 ssful tournament\, filled with team spirit and an always exemplary show of
