The Amman Asian Cadet & Junior Judo Championships 2026 officially get underway today in Amman, Jordan, bringing together the continent’s most promising young judoka for four days of competition from 16 to 19 July 2026.
Ahead of the Championships, the Judo Union of Asia (JUA) Executive Committee Meeting was successfully held in Amman on 15 July 2026, where Executive Committee members discussed key matters relating to the continued development of judo in Asia and approved the hosts for major JUA championships in 2027.
During the meeting, it was confirmed that the 2027 Asian Judo Championships will be held in Kuwait in April 2027. The Executive Committee also approved Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as the host city of the 2027 Asian Cadet & Junior Judo Championships, which will take place from 29 June to 4 July 2027.
In his welcome message, JUA President Mr. Obaid Al-Anzi extended his warm greetings to all athletes, coaches, officials, referees, volunteers, and members of the Asian judo family.
“Welcome to Amman – a city of hospitality and history. May the spirit of judo shine brightly in every contest, and may all participants leave with cherished memories and new friendships.”
President Al-Anzi also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Local Organising Committee, the Jordan Judo Federation, and the Government of Jordan for their commitment and outstanding efforts in hosting this prestigious JUA event. He further thanked all partners, sponsors, officials, referees, coaches, volunteers, and technical staff whose dedication has contributed to the successful organisation of the Championships.
On behalf of the host federation, Jordan Judo Federation President Mr. Sultan Al-Awamleh welcomed all participating delegations to Jordan.
“We are incredibly proud to host the future stars of Asian Judo here in Jordan. This championship is not only a stage for elite athletic performance, but also a true celebration of judo’s core values: respect, discipline, and friendship.”
He added that the Jordan Judo Federation has worked diligently to ensure a world-class competition and a memorable experience for all participating delegations while wishing every athlete the very best on the tatami and an enjoyable stay in Jordan.
