The Asian Cadet Championships 2026 concluded successfully on 17 July in Amman, Jordan, after two days of exciting competition that showcased the talent and potential of Asia’s next generation of judoka.
The Championships brought together 174 competitors from 20 nations, including 110 male and 64 female athletes, who competed across sixteen weight categories in the cadet individual events.
Young judoka from across the continent demonstrated impressive technical skills, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, reflecting the continued development of cadet judo in Asia.
Uzbekistan delivered a remarkable performance, finishing at the top of the medal table with 11 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze medals. Kazakhstan placed second with 2 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze medals, while the Islamic Republic of Iran finished third with 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
In the men’s competition, Uzbekistan dominated by winning six of the eight weight categories through Akbar Sharifov (-50 kg), Davlatbek Akhrorov (-60 kg), Akromjon Karimov (-66 kg), Bekhruzbek Usmonov (-73 kg), Jurabek Eshpulatov (-90 kg), and Alibek Durdiev (+90 kg). Kazakhstan claimed the -55 kg title through Yernat Kengesbek, while the Islamic Republic of Iran secured the -81 kg gold medal with Sobhan Hakimi.
The women’s events also featured strong performances from Uzbekistan, with gold medals won by Iroda Sirojiddinova (-40 kg), Dilafruz Boltaboeva (-44 kg), Charos Hikmatova (-48 kg), Zuhra Alimova (-57 kg), and Parizoda Yuldasheva (-63 kg). Additional gold medals were earned by Mahsa Shakibaei Koushki of the Islamic Republic of Iran (-52 kg), Sara Gabitova of Kazakhstan (-70 kg), and Ta Ya-Wei of Chinese Taipei (+70 kg).
The Championships once again demonstrated the depth of emerging talent across Asia and provided valuable international competition experience for young athletes as they continue their development toward the junior and senior levels.
