Launched during the 15th National Games cycle, the 2023 National Judo Ranking Tournament was organized by the China Judo Association to encourage exceptional athletes to participate in high-level competitions and elevate the competitive level of judo in China. The tournament format drew inspiration from the International Judo Federation’s ranking system, tailored to suit the specific requirements of domestic events. Athletes from different provinces and cities earned rankings based on their performances, aiming to qualify for the 2024 National Judo Championships and the final stage of the judo event at the 15th National Games.
Sihui Deputy Party Secretary Wu Jun highlighted the city’s commitment to promoting fitness for all and harnessing the potential for sports development. Sihui has diligently constructed sports centers, diverse competition venues, fitness greenways, and supporting facilities. The city has hosted various national and provincial judo championships, master tournaments, as well as large-scale sporting events like countryside cycling, mountain biking, and hiking. These endeavours have not only promoted a wide array of sports events in Sihui but have also contributed to the extensive development of both mass and competitive sports, establishing a solid foundation for transforming Sihui into a prominent sports city within the Greater Bay Area.
