The Judo Union of Asia is thrilled to announce the success of the Aktau Asian Open 2024, held in Aktau, Kazakhstan on 12-13 Oct 2024. The event brought together 164 competitors from 9 nations, showcasing the best of Asian judo talent.

In the men’s category, we witnessed fierce competition across different weight classes. Standout performances included Murad Muradli from Azerbaijan clinching the top spot in the -60 kg category, while local favorite Akylzhan Zhubatkanov impressed the crowd by winning gold in the -66 kg division. The event also saw athletes from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other nations displaying exceptional skills and sportsmanship.

Exciting Victories at Aktau Asian Open 2024 Showcase Judo Talent

On the women’s side, the competition was equally intense, with athletes from Kazakhstan dominating several weight classes. Diana Burkeyeva emerged victorious in the -48 kg category, while Moldir Narynova showcased her skills by winning gold in the -70 kg division. The female judokas from India also made their mark, with Akanksha Sandeep Shinde putting up a strong performance in the -48 kg category.

Overall, Kazakhstan emerged as the powerhouse of the tournament, securing the top position with an impressive medal tally. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan also displayed strong performances, adding to the excitement of the event.
