In the wake of the Tokyo Olympics, the International Judo Federation has introduced revisions to the international judo referee rules. To ensure comprehensive understanding and implementation of these updates, the JUA organized enlightening seminars led by JUA Head Referee Director, Mr. Osako Akinobu.
In March 2025, Mr. Osako Akinobu conducted engaging sessions on the latest international judo referee rules in Taipei and Hong Kong. The seminars drew participation from a diverse audience, including international, continental, and regional referees, as well as coaches from Taipei, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Throughout the seminars, Mr. Osako Akinobu provided in-depth explanations of the new rules, offering practical insights to assist participants in adapting to the amendments effectively. The sessions featured live demonstrations and supplementary video analyses of judo matches, enriching the learning experience for all attendees.
Through these educational initiatives, the JUA aims to enhance the proficiency and expertise of judo referees and coaches in the region, thereby raising the standards of judo officiating and fostering equitable and consistent application of the rules across international judo competitions.
