The Amman Asian Open 2025, held on 18–19 August at Princess Sumaya Hall in Amman, concluded with Egypt and Bahrain emerging as the top-performing nations. The event was organized by the Judo Union of Asia (JUA) with the support of the Jordan Judo Federation, bringing together 147 judoka from 18 nations across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Over two days of intense competition, athletes battled across 14 weight categories, delivering dynamic judo marked by a high percentage of ippon victories—81.1% of all contests ended in ippon.

Egypt led the medal table with 5 golds, 6 silvers, and 0 bronze, showcasing depth across both men’s and women’s divisions. Highlights included victories by Noura Salem (-48kg), Tassnim Roshdy (-57kg), and Fatma Ghanem (-63kg).

Bahrain followed closely with 5 gold medals, led by Ruslan Poltoratskii (-60kg), Mukhamed Aloev (-73kg), Israpil Sagaipov (-90kg), Said Sadrudinov (-100kg), and Azamat Chotchaev (+100kg).

Saudi Arabia demonstrated strength in women’s judo, with Hessah AlMelaiki (-52kg) and Reema Alsudayri (-63kg) taking podium spots. The Kingdom finished with 11 medals overall (1 gold, 2 silver, 8 bronze).

Host nation Jordan showcased promising young talent, collecting 18 medals (1 gold, 7 silver, 10 bronze), highlighted by Azeeza AlKhatib’s bronze (+78kg) and Roa’a Aljazazi’s bronze (-52kg).
