Exciting Battles and New Champions on Day Two of Asian Senior Judo Championships 2025 in Bangkok

The second day of the Asian Senior Judo Championships 2025 in Bangkok showcased intense competition across five new weight categories, with judoka from Japan, Uzbekistan, and Korea demonstrating their skills and determination on the tatami. While Japanese athletes continued their impressive performance with three titles, Uzbekistan and Korea also secured victories, adding to the excitement of the tournament.

In the -73kg category, Shakhram Ahadov of Uzbekistan clinched the gold medal by defeating Makhmadbek Makhmadbekov from the United Arab Emirates in a closely contested match. Abubakr Sherov from Tajikistan and Yudai Tanaka from Japan stood on the podium as well. Korea’s Joonhwan Lee emerged victorious in the -81kg category, outperforming Somon Makhmadbekov from Tajikistan in a thrilling golden score finish. Yuhei Pino of Japan and Arslonbek Tojieve of Uzbekistan secured the bronze medals in this weight division.

Japanese judoka continued their dominance in the remaining categories, with Megumi Fuchida winning the -57kg, Haruka Kaju triumphing in the -63kg, and Mayu Honda claiming the gold in the -70kg category. The finalists in these weight divisions included Ariunzaya Terbish and Enkhriilen Lkhagvatogo from Mongolia, as well as Yingying Feng from China.

Additional bronze medals were awarded to Shukurjon Aminova from Uzbekistan and Bakyt Kussakbayeva from Kazakhstan in the -57kg category, Pei Chun Yuan from Chinese Taipei and Ji Hye Kim from North Korea in the -63kg category, and Song Hui Mun from North Korea and Nyam-Erdene Batsuuri from Mongolia in the -70kg category.
