Hong Kong witnessed an impressive display of Judo skills as the Asian Kata Tournament 2023 took place on November 24th.

The event featured several kata disciplines, including Nage no Kata, Katame no Kata, Ju no Kata, Kime no Kata, and Kodokan Goshinjutsu. Competitors demonstrated their expertise in executing precise movements and techniques, impressing the judges and spectators alike.

In the Nage no Kata category, the top honors went to the Hong Kong team, securing the first-place position. The teams from Malaysia and Macao claimed the second and third-place spots, respectively.

Moving on to Katame no Kata, the Hong Kong team once again showcased their dominance, clinching the first and second-place positions. Hong Kong and Japan emerged as the top performers in the Ju no Kata category, securing the first, second, and third-place positions.

The Kime no Kata discipline witnessed an outstanding performance by the Japanese team, who claimed the first-place position, while the Hong Kong team secured the second-place.

Japan also showcased their expertise in the Kodokan Goshinjutsu category, securing the first-place position, while Hong Kong took the second and third-place spot.

The tournament concluded with a grand award ceremony, where the winners were recognised for their exceptional skills and dedication.

The Asian Open in Hong Kong starts today the 25 November, 131 athletes from 24 countries and regions in the 5 continents will compete in exciting matches throughout the weekend in different weight categories.
